Responsibilities
Develop and operate software and applications in support of UT’s Network Access Control (NAC) and Identity Based Network Services (IBNS) systems
Participate in system architecture and planning for NAC and IBNS services
Provide escalation support (tier 3+) for complex problems related to NAC and IBNS systems
Perform other related functions as assigned
Qualification
Required
U.S. Citizen, resident, or officially recognized asylee - Applicant selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements of the position
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience
7+ years of current software development experience in Java and JavaScript/TypeScript
7+ years of current/recent software development experience on Linux systems
5+ years of current/recent sysadmin experience with Linux systems
Working knowledge of navigating and configuring mainstream consumer devices (macOS, Windows, iOS, Android)
Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship
This position requires you to maintain internet service and a mobile phone with voice and data plans to be used when required for work
Preferred
Experience with Cisco IOS-XE and IOS-XR routers and switches
Experience with FortiNet firewalls
Experience with Angular
Experience with LAN and WAN routing and switching
Experience implementing network automation processes
Experience with Python, Perl, and UNIX shell scripts
Experience working in large university environments (30000+ students) supporting academic (instructional and research) and administrative functions
