Responsibilities

Write implicit and explicit SQL pass-through queries to access and manipulate Oracle data
Involved in the migration of data from one system to another, ensuring data integrity and validating migration success
Create SAS macros to check variable values across multiple Oracle datasets
Develop ETL processes to create SQL statements and export data in the form of text files for business users
Generate reports based on business requirements, with a particular focus on the data quality of records
Provide insights into data quality and completeness, making recommendations for improvements where necessary
Document SAS programs and write test cases to validate functionality
Ensure the integrity of programs by performing rigorous testing and validation
Benchmark the current SAS system, particularly focusing on SAS exports to understand and troubleshoot issues related to hardware limitations and when programs may fail

Required

Proven experience with SAS programming, including the use of SAS macros and SQL pass-through for data manipulation

Proficiency in SQL, particularly with Oracle databases
Experience writing test cases and creating detailed documentation for SAS programs
Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in benchmarking and optimizing SAS exports
Strong knowledge of data validation techniques, especially when working with large datasets
Understanding of system performance, with a focus on hardware limitations and how they impact SAS performance

Preferred

Familiarity with other data manipulation and reporting tools such as Python or R
Experience in data migration projects within large enterprise systems
SAS certifications (e.g., SAS Base Programming)
Relevant certifications in data management, ETL, or database management
