Responsibilities

Build rough stock for CNC machines

Hand build parts

Finish sand and coat models for lamination or vacuum forming

Able to read 2d and 3d drawings

Able to create model from 3D drawing

Proper use and type of sandpaper

Proper use and type of wood filler

Able to read height gages, calipers and use scribe tools

Proper use of spray gun for application of sanding sealer

Able Glue up stock in preparation for CNC machine

Square a base

Build a perfect plank base

Flatten stock for mounting

Drill holes in stock

Drill & countersink holes in base

Thorough understanding of CNC milling processes

Required

High school diploma, GED or equivalent

Journeyman Wood Model Maker

Working knowledge of Planners, Jointers, Band saws, Table saws, and other wood working machinery

Able to read 2d and 3d drawings

Able to create model from 3D drawing

Working knowledge of Fiberglass & Carbon Fiber lamination process

Proper use and type of sandpaper

Proper use and type of wood filler

Able to read height gages, calipers and use scribe tools

Proper use of spray gun for application of sanding sealer

Able Glue up stock in preparation for CNC machine
