The Navy Integrated Training Environment (NITE) Network Administrator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting network connectivity and infrastructure on the Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN), ensuring continuous connectivity for customers and sites.

Responsibilities
Maintain smooth operation of local area, wide area, and virtual private networks (VPNs)
Plan, evaluate, and coordinate installation or reconfiguration of network hardware/software
Configure and maintain routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, and gateways
Monitor network performance and conduct short- and long-range capacity planning
Troubleshoot connectivity issues at the hardware, software, and protocol/packet level
Maintain and update network documentation, operational instructions, and SOPs
Coordinate with third-party vendors for maintenance and upgrades
Ensure compliance with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field + 9 years relevant experience
Master's degree in a related field + 7 years relevant experience
PhD/JD in a related field + 4 years relevant experience
High school diploma/equivalent + 13 years relevant experience
Demonstrated experience in network operations and support, including LAN/WAN installation and troubleshooting
Proficiency with Cisco networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, routing protocols, Cisco IOS)
Experience with firewall ACL configuration and troubleshooting (ASA or equivalent)
Ability to troubleshoot at the protocol/packet level using tools such as sniffers, protocol analyzers, NetFlow, and log analysis
Familiarity with DoD STIGs and Information Assurance compliance requirements
Experience in a network operations center (NOC) or help desk environment, including ticketing and customer communications
Current or Active U.S. Top Secret clearance (must maintain throughout employment)
U.S. citizenship
Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification/equivalent or higher (e.g., Security+ CE, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)
Willingness to work periodic shifted schedules, including evenings, nights, and weekends
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline
CCNP or CCNA certification
Experience with multicast routing, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and PIM
Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds)
Familiarity with Cisco VoIP, PoE switches, and Call Manager
Experience with NSA Type 1 cryptographic devices and keying material (e.g., KG-175D, KG-75)
Knowledge of network security technologies including VRFs and port-security/802.1x
