Torchbearer Manager
LA28 is the independent organizing committee for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games, aiming to create an inclusive and accessible experience for all. The Torchbearer Manager will shape the Torchbearer program, overseeing the selection and coordination of Torchbearers, ensuring a high-quality experience leading up to the Games.

Responsibilities
Develop the LA28 Torchbearer strategy for the Torch Relays
Work cross-functionally with other LA28 functional areas (FAs) to coordinate the delivery of the LA28 Torchbearer nomination and selection process
Partner with the Torch Relays Production team to deliver a consistent, high-quality experience for all Torchbearers
Coordinate with external stakeholders (including Partners) to ensure strategic alignment on their Torchbearer selection programs
Lead the creation and delivery of LA28’s high-profile Torchbearer program, managing all aspects from concept to execution
Support and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and effective Torchbearer and other public announcements for the Torch Relays
Manage operational budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to financial constraints
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5+ years of experience in managing volunteers or mass participation events
Proven success managing large-scale scheduling and logistics across multiple locations
Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, production, HR, finance and legal teams
Track record of successfully delivering large-scale, multi-faceted and operationally challenging event production
Ability to self-manage multiple projects and tight timelines
In-depth understanding of the live events industry, including logistical, technical, and regulatory considerations
Strong ability to navigate and align cross-functional stakeholder interests
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
Understanding of and sensitivity to various cultures and traditions
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Ability to work on-site in an open office environment, based in Los Angeles, CA
Willingness to travel and work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends
