Senior Tax Accounting Analyst
Mercedes-Benz North America Corporation is a US subsidiary of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, one of the most successful automotive companies. The Senior Tax Accounting Analyst will be responsible for tax accounting functions, ensuring compliance with accounting regulations and preparing tax provision calculations.

Responsibilities
Prepare the tax accounting packages required for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of income taxes for various North American group entities, including planning periods and provision to return analysis. (60%)
Lead or support projects focused on tax process automation and analytics, leveraging current best practices and tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, or similar platforms) to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounting for income taxes. (15%)
Assist as necessary in preparation of the regulatory and/or state reporting as well as the preparation of statutory financial statements for legal entity reporting. Assist in the preparation of ad-hoc analysis and information gathering for external auditors (PwC), internal customers, and other parties. (15%)
Ensures ICFR compliance to support management's assessment on the effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting related to tax accounting processes, including analyzing controls documentation and making recommendations to management as well as periodic reporting of findings. (10%)
Qualification
Required
Legally authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of application
Minimum of 5 years of comprehensive work experience in accounting or tax
Income tax experience
Exposure to IFRS12 or ASC740
Bachelor's Degree
Recommended majors include Accounting or Taxation
Advanced data analysis and financial modeling skills relevant to tax accounting
Experience with process automation and analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, or similar)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
Ability to interpret complex data, identify trends and variances, and communicate insights effectively
Strong problem-solving and project management skills
In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting issues in the financial services industry
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to learn new systems and business processes quickly
Ability to share knowledge and contribute to the growth of junior staff
Understanding of organizational structures and processes affecting financial reporting
Sound understanding of products and services offered by the Company to help ensure appropriate and consistent accounting and reporting treatment
Preferred
CPA license

Master's Degree
Experience with SAP
Experience with Corptax
Background in technical accounting and reporting requirements and IFRS standards
