Commissioning Engineer II+

Responsibilities
Maintains clear knowledge of HEAPY Corporate Vision, Mission, and Core Values and demonstrates awareness of how those objectives relate to all position responsibilities
Approaches all assigned tasks as an opportunity for growth and experience
Continually advances technical education and personal development aligned with goals
Applies understanding of plans and specifications and knowledge of the use of templates, checklists and basic functional and performance tests to successfully complete responsibilities
Develops and performs system installation verification and functional performance testing
Performs onsite validation and review of equipment and controls to identify proper operation and/or opportunities to improve performance
Prepares and reviews energy studies, including audits and analysis of existing and new building systems (HVAC, lighting, envelope, etc.)
Assists with energy calculations, utility rate structures, testing procedures, plans, or reports involving HVAC, lighting, standby power, and other energy-consuming or producing equipment, components, or systems
Verifies that owners' project requirements are met from project design through operations
Prepares clear, visually compelling reports and presentations for internal teams, owners, and decision-makers
Executes various computer-based building modeling programs to evaluate and simulate system performance and utility incentives or code compliance
Uses computer-based energy and fault detection software
Independently interprets system data and provides documentation on situations of low to medium complexity
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
2-year engineering degree or equivalent working knowledge/experience in a technical role in the built environment, such as Commissioning Technician, HVAC Technician, or Energy Specialist
Working knowledge of various computer software packages, instrumentation, and testing equipment
Achieved or is working toward an appropriate Commissioning Certification, such as the CEM, CxA, etc., or trades certifications
