Valley Bank is seeking an Intern for their Internal Audit team. The Audit-Data Analytics Intern will leverage analytical skills to assist auditors by analyzing firm data, identifying opportunities for analytics in audit testing, and generating visual analyses to support various audit functions.

Responsibilities

Assist auditors through hands-on analysis of firm data and provide insights from it

Seek audit areas of opportunity where analytics can be applied to conduct testing versus the sample approach

Generate a visual analysis with charts/graphs for several audits and audit functions

Interact with business partners to identify data sources and the data elements required for analytics

Work closely with audit staff towards meeting department goals

Perform continuous monitoring tasks and evaluate the results

Required

Good quantitative, analytical, data-intuition, and problem-solving skills

Good knowledge of data analysis tools such as Excel, Access, Microsoft Power BI, ACL, SQL

Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

Detail oriented, organized, and accurate with information conveyed

Ability to be resourceful and work independently

High School Diploma or GED and enrollment in a 2 or 4-year degree program

Preferred

An enrollment in a 4-year college or university, with a concentration in MIS, Math, Computer Science or related field preferred
