Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of Design Engineers, providing technical direction, mentorship, and project prioritization
Own end-to-end product development, taking designs from concept and analysis through manufacturing release and production support
Oversee structural design and stress modeling, including load cases such as lifting, transport, vibration, drop testing, and full-load impact scenarios
Drive design of ground support equipment used to transport large aircraft engines during international and domestic shipment
Support RFP responses, technical proposals, and customer-driven design requirements
Ensure all designs comply with AS9100 and applicable aerospace standards
Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and program management teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and delivered on schedule
Review and approve engineering documentation, drawings, calculations, and design changes
Support stress testing, validation, and qualification activities
Partner with leadership to align engineering execution with business strategy and growth objectives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (Master's preferred)
8+ years of engineering experience, with 3+ years leading design engineering teams
Strong background in structural design and stress analysis for heavy-duty or aerospace applications
Hands-on experience taking products through manufacturing, not just concept or R&D
Proficiency with NX / CATIA (required)
Experience working in AS9100-regulated aerospace environments
Comfortable leading customer-driven programs involving commercial and military applications
Strong communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams
Preferred
Aerospace containers, ground support equipment, engine stands, or heavy structural systems
Designs subjected to dynamic loads, drop tests, transport loads, and environmental conditions
Experience supporting military programs
Prior involvement in global shipping solutions (air and sea transport)
