Responsibilities

Manage the engineering and architecture teams ensuring the cloud infrastructure meets security, performance, and scalability requirements
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineering staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
Engineer, implement, and deploy services using best practices for service delivery, incident management, and problem resolution, ensuring compliance with SLAs and KPIs
Work closely with operations, application development, and business area to ensure alignment of cloud services with overall requirements and objectives
Manage engineering and architecture staffing including hiring and employee management while ensuring cleared and certified personnel are aligned to requirements
Organize, direct and coordinate planning and execution of engineering activities, and review the work of subordinates, including subcontractors, to ensure that the schedule, standards, and reporting responsibilities are met
Identify and mitigate risks that could impact program success, develop risk mitigation strategies, and facilitate resolution
Provide leadership during Transition-In, ensuring continuity of operations, minimal disruption to mission-critical services, and effective risk identification and mitigation
Set team priorities, strategic vision, maintaining quality and product roadmaps
Establish organization policies, standards, and engineering procedures
Track project progress, monitor performance against established SLA’s, metrics, and take corrective actions as needed
Ensure that all project deliverables meet defined quality standards and requirements
Identify opportunities to improve engineering practices and documentation to enhance delivery quality and speed
Interact with the customer directly and communicate concerns to Leidos project management and technical team members
Conduct design reviews, system integrations, and develop comprehensive as-built and runbook documentation
Implement and manage performance monitoring tools and processes to ensure optimal system performance and availability
Implement automation solutions, leveraging tools such as Ansible and various scripting languages, to streamline hosting operations and reduce manual intervention

Required

Bachelor's degree and 8+ years relevant experience OR Master's degree and 6+ years of experience
Extensive engineering experience on large-scale programs with experience in Cloud environments
Proven ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with various stakeholders, including leadership, peers, and external partners
Ability to operate independently with limited supervision while building strong relationships across technical staff, division managers, and peers
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Disciplined strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving capabilities
Strong business acumen, analytical capabilities, reliability, and sound judgment
Experience with agile program execution
Ability to travel as needed
Must hold an active Secret security clearance prior to start
US Citizen

Preferred

Business development experience with Government contracting
Scaled Agile (SAFe) experience
