Radiation Effects Program Lead

Responsibilities
Advising program management, systems engineers, and design teams on all aspects of radiation hardening of electronics and power systems
Conducting detailed analysis of requirements to inform the selection the system-level radiation hardening strategy, conduct design trades and technology down selects
Provide subject matter expertise to component design teams to ensure radiation hardening and qualification are accounted for in proposals, schedules, and cost estimates
Review detailed design artifacts during development to ensure implementation of the radiation hardening strategy
Inform electrical parts program requirements that assure long-term compliance with radiation performance thresholds over the life of program procurement
Develop design manuals, program plans, and command media to standardize design approaches, compliance evidence, and manage radiation hardening risks at the system level
Act as the Leidos in-house expert for all things related to space and strategic radiation design and qualification
Conduct detailed planning for radiation qualification testing, including test facility interface scheduling, test design, test planning and procedures, instrumentation, data collection, data reduction and interpretation
Prepare verification evidence and artifacts to support program objectives
Qualification
Required
Masters degree in electrical or nuclear engineering or masters' degree in physics
15+ years' experience in the design, development, and qualification of strategic radiation hardened systems
Strong experience with radiation qualification testing
Proven ability to build and maintain lasting customer relationships, external stakeholder networks, and teaming partnerships
Excellent verbal and written communication, management, and organizational skills
Must have an active Top Secret clearance
Preferred
Prior successful experience as strategic weapons program lead for both Navy and Air Force strategic weapons systems
