Responsibilities

Leads small-to-medium sized systems Engineering projects or technical work packages within cost and quality requirements as assigned and may allocate or coordinate work with the project or work package

Working closely with RF, Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineers, the Systems Engineer will guide the development of the Radar System from initial design, through finalization of the design, and finally through the integration and test events

The Systems Engineer is expected to provide system level trade-space assessments of approaches working with the Project Engineer to determine the benefit trade-offs

The Systems Engineer will have the opportunity to guide the development and selection of key technologies for the Navy and will have the opportunity to work with complex software algorithms and cutting-edge digital signal processing hardware

The Systems Engineer will have the opportunity to contribute to key strategic approaches for future proposals, IR&D, and additional development activities

Strong attention to detail and work ethic

Knowledge of proper systems engineering discipline and rigor required for disciplined systems development

Significant experience with Radar systems or similar signal processing systems

Experience and knowledge of algorithms used for navigation, periscope detection, discrimination or other parts of traditional Radar signal processing

Laboratory knowledge including setup and use of Linux-based system integration, test, and execution

Experience planning, reviewing, and executing integration and test events for combined hardware and software systems

Ability to document and specify system and subsystem level requirements

Experience working with a team to jointly develop a system during all phases of the development lifecycle

Review/provide technical input and cost estimation support

Provide systems engineering leadership to a small group of systems or mixed discipline engineers

Willingness to travel (10%)
