Director, Multifaith & Pluralistic Engagement

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and evaluate interfaith programming, specifically for faculty and staff
Work in collaboration with the Director of Spiritual life (DU’s student facing student support) in creating areas of shared engagement and learning with students, faculty, and staff
Work towards creating and establishing a partnership chaplaincy program with the joint Iliff/DU Chaplaincy program that will support and engage the DU community in areas of religion, spirituality, meaning making, and belonging
Support and advise religious and interfaith affinity groups for faculty and staff
Support and collaborate with units engaged in the work of religious accommodations
Develop, implement, and evaluate restorative practice programming alongside the Ombuds and other members of the DCSE team
Provide 1:1 support via spiritual care conversations in conjunction with the chaplains for faculty and staff
Create and sustain collaborative work alongside practitioners across the university in the work of restorative practices. These partners include but are not limited to: Spiritual Life, DU’s 4D experience, Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity, Religious Studies, Joint PhD Program with DU/Iliff, Philosophy, etc
Renovate previously established and implement new dialogic programming at DU with the aim of creating and sustaining pluralistic engagements
Collaborate with the Assistant Vice Chancellors in DCSE in the creation of training opportunities and support mechanisms for faculty and managers seeking support in implementing pluralistic engagements with their students/teams
All members of the DCSE team support and engage with the DU community across constituency groups toward creating inclusive education and workspaces, the work of dialogue, pluralism, and de-escalation in programmatic planning and implementation
Establish metrics of engagement, success, and belonging within the role of Multifaith and Pluralistic Engagement
Serve as part of a university wide team tasked with de-escalation and conflict resolution in spaces of pluralistic and freedom of expression engagements
Support DCSE in the planning and hosting of signature and large-scale events
All other Division support as needed

Required

Master's Degree from an accredited university program
A minimum of five (4) years of relevant education and/or work experience related to university processes and engagements
A minimum of three (2) years of supervisory experience
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative and mutually beneficial relationships with university communities and organizations
Demonstrated ability to implement community programming events and to work productively with individuals across campus to make university events inclusive and successful

Preferred

PhD degree or relevant professional degree
Work experience in higher education or similar educational settings
