Assistant Area General Manager

PUPS Pet Club is a company focused on providing exceptional services for pets and their owners. The Assistant General Manager will assist the Area General Manager in daily operations, ensuring a safe and engaging environment while leading and coaching team members.

Responsibilities

Actively participate in daily operations including customer service, pet care support, cleaning, and facility standards
Ensure operational excellence by following Company procedures related to safety, cleanliness, and pet care standards
Assist with opening and closing procedures and operational audits
Identify operational gaps and escalate opportunities for improvement to the Area General Manager
Support the Area General Manager in supervising, coaching and developing team members
Provide on the floor leadership during peak business hours
Assist with training new hires and reinforcing standard operating procedures
Lead shifts and provide direction when Area General Manager is offsite
Promote a positive, inclusive and accountability-driven team culture
Deliver exceptional service to pet parents by addressing concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring consistent service quality
Serve as a role model for Customer engagement and pet first behaviors
Support the execution of promotions, programs and service offerings
Assist with scheduling and shift coverage to ensure proper staffing levels
Support timekeeping accuracy and compliance with labor policies
Help manage overtime responsibly while meeting operational needs
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and local/state regulations
Support incident reporting and follow up
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation and pet welfare
All other duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience in pet care, retail, hospitality or service-based operations
Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role
Excellent interpersonal, team building, and customer service skills
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient with M365 and familiar with workforce management systems and POS platforms
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
Passion for pets and commitment to animal safety and care
