This role will focus on contract review, risk management, claims resolution, and negotiation strategies to protect the company’s interests while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities
Review, draft, and edit construction contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements
Collaborate with Contract Manager, CFO, Executive, and Project teams to ensure contractual compliance and mitigate risk
Collaboration with CFO regarding risk management in regard to insurance policies and claims
Internal contract training to project management teams across the company
Conduct thorough risk management analysis and provide recommendations for contract language improvements
Maintain accurate documentation for all legal matters, including claims and dispute resolutions
Manage and resolve construction claims involving clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and owners across multiple claim types
Represent the company in mediation and arbitration proceedings, negotiating favorable outcomes
Advise leadership on legal implications of business decisions and regulatory requirements
Ensure compliance with state and federal laws governing construction and corporate operations, including licensing
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Experience as Inside Legal Counsel or similar role in a construction company
Strong knowledge of contract law and risk management
Ability to review, draft, and edit construction contracts, subcontracts, and related agreements
Experience in claims resolution and negotiation strategies
Ability to collaborate with various teams including Contract Manager, CFO, Executive, and Project teams
Experience in conducting risk management analysis and providing recommendations
Strong documentation skills for legal matters, including claims and dispute resolutions
Experience in representing a company in mediation and arbitration proceedings
Ability to advise leadership on legal implications of business decisions and regulatory requirements
Knowledge of state and federal laws governing construction and corporate operations
