Responsibilities

Work directly with the Audience team to creatively promote our journalism
May have the opportunity to write stories and produce content to appeal to our digital readers
Write strong digital headlines
Craft social media posts
Create multimedia elements for social, including video, GIFs, TikTok videos, Instagram stories and Twitter cards
Help manage the dallasnews.com home page
Monitor real-time analytics and make decisions based on that information
Improve and test headlines
Optimize article pages
Push news app alerts to our readers
Collaborate with writers and editors on plans for story promotion

Qualification

Social media understandingWriting skillsDigital content productionMultimedia creationCollaboration skills

Required

Candidates must have completed High School and be currently enrolled in higher-level education in a journalism-focused degree plan
Strong writing skills
Excellent understanding of social media, Internet culture and the digital space
Ability to write strong digital headlines
Ability to craft social media posts
Ability to create multimedia elements for social, including video, GIFs, TikTok videos, Instagram stories and Twitter cards
Ability to help manage the dallasnews.com home page
Ability to monitor real-time analytics and make decisions based on that information
Ability to improve and test headlines
Ability to optimize article pages
Ability to push news app alerts to readers
Ability to collaborate with writers and editors on plans for story promotion
Links to relevant work on websites, blogs, social media or in print
