Branch Manager
Merchants Bank is excited to be opening a new branch in Bloomington, IN. The Branch Manager will serve as the face of the branch, leading business development efforts, managing operations, and ensuring compliance while fostering community relationships to drive business growth.

Responsibilities
Serve as the face of the branch in the local community by actively participating in community events, networking opportunities, and outreach initiatives to strengthen the branch’s presence and reputation
Deliver high-level service and relationship management to the bank’s clients, ensuring a personalized and positive experience
Identify and solicit new client opportunities within the bank’s target markets, leveraging community engagement to attract new business
Establish and nurture Centers of Influence and strategic partnerships within the community to generate new deposit and lending relationships
Manage the activities and performance of retail staff, focusing on cross-selling opportunities and delivering exceptional, high-touch customer service
Take ownership of client problem resolution, ensuring timely communication and effective solutions
Ensure compliance with the bank’s audit, regulatory, and operational policies, and support staff adherence to these standards
Collaborate with management to provide training and development for staff, equipping them to achieve outstanding sales and service levels
Lead and supervise retail employees in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance management, and addressing employee concerns
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or professional equivalent of five years sales or business development management; or equivalent combination of education and experience
2-4 years of retail banking experience, including customer service and sales responsibilities preferred
Prior experience in supervisory or leadership roles within a retail environment preferred
Community involvement or experience in business development through networking and relationship building is strongly preferred
Strong leadership and coaching abilities to motivate staff and drive performance
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage branch operations efficiently
High-level problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction
High attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling and reconciliation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Professionalism, integrity, and accountability in all interactions
Preferred
2-4 years of retail banking experience, including customer service and sales responsibilities preferred
Prior experience in supervisory or leadership roles within a retail environment preferred
Community involvement or experience in business development through networking and relationship building is strongly preferred
