Responsibilities

Design, implement, validate and launch driving behavior metrics
Use simulations and real world examples to build datasets for model training and metric validation
Design A/B experiments to evaluate two versions of software
Collect, align, and advise stakeholder needs, providing expert opinion on how best to run rigorous, statistical evaluation

Qualification

PhD in quantitative areaData analysis skillsPythonSQLC++A/B experiment experienceMetric validation experienceTechnical solution proposalCommunication skillsLeadership skills

Required

PhD in Statistics, Math, Physics, or another quantitative area (e.g., Computer Science, Robotics)
7+ years of industry experience
Strong communication/leadership to address a high surface area across different organizations and products
Excellent data skills that produce efficient, data-reasoned choices for simplifying metrics and validating their quality
Proficiency in coding (across C++, Python, SQL) that prevents them from being bottlenecked by Waymo's metric infrastructures
Ability to take ambiguous business requirements and propose a technical solution

Preferred

Experience with A/B experiment infrastructure
Experience building and validating metrics to measure quality in complex systems
Exposure to ad-hoc data analysis tools for rapid modeling and prototyping
Experience coding in C++
