Senior Manager Procurement

The Senior Manager, Procurement will act as a central point of contact for the turf business unit, coordinating supply chain activities and managing cost savings projects while contributing to overall strategy development.

Responsibilities
Analyzing current and potential suppliers and developing strategic alliances with suppliers to maintain competitive pricing, flexible lead times and high standards of quality for a specific region or business unit
Measuring the performance of the supply base and ensures reporting processes are in place
Developing procurement strategies and conducting negotiations
Leveraging total cost reductions and quality improvement recommendations
Evaluating new material, supply and service developments
Reviewing and interpreting supplier contracts
Driving continuous improvement activities throughout the function
As applicable: performing full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or related field OR equivalent education and experience
Minimum of seven years of experience in supply chain or related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Comprehensive understanding of integrated supply chain management including principles, methods and practices related to procurement and/or purchasing - experience in new product development qualification and PPAP preferred
Ability to summarize complex projects & create summary presentations for executives that convey the critical factors in the project
Strong attention to detail
Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills for report writing, presentations and interactions with diverse groups of people inside and outside of the corporation
Excellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise judgment and make critical decisions and think strategically
Ability to lead diverse teams through complex projects
Thorough understanding of how to select and build appropriate supply strategies based on operational needs
Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 15%
Preferred
Comprehensive understanding of integrated supply chain management including principles, methods and practices related to procurement and/or purchasing - experience in new product development qualification and PPAP preferred
SAP ERP experience preferred
Prior supervisory/management/leadership experience in a business or purchasing/procurement environment preferred
Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification preferred
