Senior LevelXavier University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Physics and Engineering for a tenure-track faculty position starting in Fall 2026. The role involves teaching courses, guiding senior design projects, leading ABET accreditation efforts, and mentoring undergraduate students in research.

Having productive engagement in scholarly activities
Mentoring undergraduates in a research program
Advising students
Qualification
Required
Ph.D. in an engineering field
Ability to teach the equivalent of 3 courses per semester including lecture and lab courses in physics and engineering
Guiding the Senior Design year-long course sequence
Leading in the ABET accreditation process including the engineering physics advisory board
Fostering industry relationships
Having productive engagement in scholarly activities
Mentoring undergraduates in a research program
Advising students
Passion for teaching undergraduates
Preferred
Experience supervising undergraduates in research
Interest in collaboration with other Xavier faculty
Experience in ABET accreditation
