Procurement Category Manager

Responsibilities
Strategy development, sourcing, forecasting, negotiation, contracting, supplier management, and leadership of cross functional teams
Global sourcing projects - This position is responsible for sourcing strategies of existing and new products as well as support of new product initiatives and launches
The GSSPM role will serve as a key player in global sourcing work - Plan and lead projects/ sourcing initiatives for the contracting of goods and/or services from US and international suppliers. Includes investigation and understanding of the global marketplace for assigned commodities while furthering the company objectives regarding responsible sourcing and diversity suppliers; understanding and use of eRFx tools for all phases of work; development, negotiation and management of supply contracts
Global Category Strategies ownership. Includes development, implementation, oversight, reviewing/refreshing strategies and updating internal stakeholders/ business partners
Proactively evaluate business opportunities to maximize cost savings, providing the best quality and service, matching the greatest supplier capabilities with the business partner’s needs. Manage and enhance Clorox/supplier relationships
Interact with internal senior management and external personnel on matters requiring coordination between organizations (includes creating/ maintaining strategic supplier relationships, managing/ resolving systemic supplier issues, assessing Supplier's capabilities and communicating risk, etc
Actively manage supply chain to ensure continuity of supply and drive a sustainable cost advantage for Clorox
Global spend responsibility: USD$75M – $125M
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
7 years' supply chain/related industry experience
5 years' experience in Sourcing related activities
Position will require the candidate to be in manufacturing environment with rotating equipment, elevated surfaces, temperature variations etc
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Science or related field of study required
MBA
10 years' supply chain/related industry experience
7 years' experience in Sourcing related activities
CPG industry and International experience
Experience working with external (contract) manufacturing
Proven record of developing and implementing category strategies
Proven record of leading cross functional teams and driving consensus
Experience with e-sourcing tools and SAP (other ERP systems welcome)
Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels required
Able to lead cross-functional teams through defined processes
Proven ability to handle multiple projects/responsibilities and adapt to changing priorities as well as differing priorities with internal stakeholders
Analytical Thinking / Problem Solving - Sorts through complex issues, identifies alternatives and makes recommendations. Integrates information from multiple sources, assesses and communicates it properly
