Responsibilities
Work cross-functionally to build, test, deploy, and launch UIs that operationalize our workflows at scale
Participate in product reviews and team meetings, providing technical insight. Help scope, estimate, and prioritize between conflicting needs
Evaluate new technologies and approaches to streamline and improve our rapid application development tooling and conventions
Regularly learn and influence new systems and tools as the Netflix platform and ecosystem evolve
Participate in our on-call rotation and lead the incident reviews
Effectively communicate complex technical issues and solutions to stakeholders
Apply engineering best practices to guide projects and decisions, mentor team members

Qualification
Required

Are passionate about user experience and have an eye for improving UIs, passionate about building intuitive user interfaces in close partnership with UX Designers and Product Managers
Love brainstorming with fellow Backend and UI engineers, product designers, and product managers, and directly with our users, to understand what they want, figure out what they really need, and finally, what we should build
Eager to identify business opportunities that positively impact the organization's bottom line

Are adept at building enterprise applications with HTML/JavaScript/TypeScript/CSS
Are curious to work with the Hawkins Design System, adopting reusable components as part of the product and contributing to their implementation
Have a strong sense of ownership, independence, bias towards action, and inclination for collaboration
Are able to recognize, communicate, address and lead the technical improvements as part of the roadmap
Are passionate about web performance, observability and developer experience tools
Have in-depth knowledge of web performance and accessibility
Are strong in technical design end to end with emphasis on UI and can inform the vision of fellow UI and BE colleagues
Have helped define and ensure accountability for UI Engineering best practices across a team
