Assistant Director, Residential Life Academic Success and Residential Engagement, UNLV Student Life [R0150050]

The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Director for Residential Life Academic Success and Residential Engagement. This role is responsible for creating a supportive living environment that promotes academic achievement and personal growth among students, as well as collaborating with faculty and staff to enhance the academic experience within residence halls.

Accounting

Responsibilities

Develop and oversee programs designed to support the academic, social, and personal growth of first-year, first-generation, and underrepresented students living in the residence halls
Provide leadership in a theory-based developmental program for resident assistants and all residents
Utilize research and best practices to implement thematic, academic, and living-learning community (LLC) floors, and collaborate with external partners to advance a comprehensive living-learning model
Directly supervising the Program Coordinator for Residential Education and indirectly supervising HRL’s student organizations (e.g. RHA and NRRH)
Provide individualized advocacy, mentorship, and resources that promote belonging, persistence, and holistic development
Collect, track, and analyze retention, persistence, and completion data for residential life including first-year, first-generation, and underrepresented students’ success
Collect, track, and analyze residential students on academic probation and connect them to appropriate resources to identify trends and opportunity gaps to inform data-driven interventions and ongoing program improvement
Oversee the Rebel Learning Lounge (residential hall space that provides tutoring, success coaching, and peer mentoring for all students) in partnership with Academic Success Center
Support Residential Life Coordinators (RLCs) in the daily supervision of thematic floors, including providing specialized training
Collaborate with faculty and academic departments to connect students with resources that support their academic goals
Collaborate with campus partners to design and deliver workshops, initiatives, and engagement opportunities focused on academic success, identity, and leadership development
Support the delivery of the First Year Experience to residents in the residence halls, fostering academic transition, engagement, and connection to campus resources
Promote and market events and involvement opportunities within residential life
Provide on-call and emergency response for Housing and Residential Life on a rotating basis

Required

Master's degree
3 years of related professional experience (with a minimum of 1 year in related field of Housing/Residential Life)
1 year of supervisory experience

1 year of supervisory experience
1 year of management experience
Work with university student housing administration and at least one of the following areas: student conduct processes, student leadership development programs, student academic success programs, and/or staff recruitment/selection/training processes or related experience
