Trauma Data Abstractor Part Time

Responsibilities

Complete abstraction process for the assigned facility/facilities, including abstraction of cases into the required system (e.g Traumabase, Digital Innovations, TraumaOne, or Imagetrend)
Review medical records to abstract information according to the standards of various regulatory and accreditation agencies (e.g., ACS, NTDB, TQIP, and state regulations.)
Submit data timely through the appropriate reporting system
Resolve errors resulting in the rejection of records from the data entry system

Qualification

Trauma Abstracting experienceHealth Information ManagementCodingMedical record reviewRHIARHITCSS certification

Required

High School education/GED

Preferred

Undergraduate (Associate or Bachelor) degree or successful completion of a certified coding program
Trauma Abstracting experience
1 year in Health Information Management; Coding, Nursing, and/or Health Registry abstraction experience
Certificate/License: RHIA, RHIT, CSS, LVN or RN
