Senior Strategic Finance Consultant

The Senior Strategic Finance Consultant will serve as a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate complex financial decisions and develop strategic financial plans to drive sustainable growth.

Management Consulting

Responsibilities

Build deep, trusted relationships with business owners to understand their vision, goals, and operational realities
Lead clients through strategic financial planning processes that align with their business objectives
Serve as the primary strategic finance advisor for a portfolio of clients
Develop comprehensive financial plans, forecasts, and models to support growth initiatives
Design and implement cash flow management strategies to ensure financial stability and enable investment
Create scenario analyses and financial projections to inform major business decisions
Identify financial opportunities and risks, providing proactive recommendations
Build financial dashboards and reporting frameworks that provide actionable insights
Own the business’ chart of accounts and have a strong opinion of how to view the business to get actionable insights
Support clients as they craft commission and other incentive plans
Partner with clients to develop and evaluate growth strategies from a financial perspective
Model the financial implications of expansion, new product lines, market entry, and other strategic initiatives
Support pricing strategy, unit economics analysis, and profitability optimization
Guide capital allocation decisions and investment prioritization
Develop best practices, methodologies, and tools that enhance our service delivery
Mentor junior team members and share knowledge across the organization
Contribute to the firm's thought leadership and business development efforts

Required

8+ years of progressive experience in strategic finance, FP&A, or financial planning roles
Proven ability to lead cross-departmental financial planning at a small to mid-sized business
Deep expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management
Strong business acumen with the ability to translate financial data into strategic recommendations
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences
Demonstrated ability to build trusted advisor relationships with business owners and executives
Self-directed with strong project management and organizational skills
Expert in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
Advanced knowledge of Quickbooks, BILL and other accounting platforms
Experience with equity and/or debt financing rounds

Preferred

MBA, CPA, CFA, or similar advanced credential
Experience in consulting or professional services environment
Experience managing or mentoring other finance professionals
