Responsibilities

Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and DB2

Analyze and understand business requirements to design effective technical solutions

Perform system and data analysis to identify and resolve application issues

Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards

Optimize existing applications for performance and reliability

Create and maintain detailed technical documentation

Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and other developers to ensure successful project delivery

Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mainframe applications

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)

5+ years of experience in mainframe development using COBOL and DB2

Strong understanding of mainframe technologies and architectures

Proficiency in JCL (Job Control Language) and CICS (Customer Information Control System)

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment

Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work

Preferred

Advanced degree or certification in a related field

Experience with other mainframe tools and technologies (e.g., VSAM, IMS)

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
