Responsibilities
Project Accountant will guide employees performing accounting, billing, payables, payroll, general ledger, budgeting, and financial reporting duties
Ensure timely and accurate preparation, analysis and presentation of financial reports, statements, and tax returns/filings on a weekly/monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
Direct financial planning and budgeting for assigned entities
Analyze financial data and build financial models for expected operations to identify development opportunities
Develop and enforce internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures
As a Project Accountant, you will direct the implementation of new financial systems and procedures
Act as primary liaison for financial audits with external CPA firm, and correspondence with state agencies and other external parties
Ensure compliance with federal and state contract cost accounting principles and work with various departments to assist providing information
Review all financial statements and ledgers and work with the accounting staff to clear up discrepancies
Qualification
Required
Degree in Accounting
5+ years of related construction accounting management experience
Experience in managing day-to-day functions and leading accounting personnel
Advanced level Excel skills required including pivot tables, v-lookups
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization
Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to details and proactive approach
Strong oral and written communication skills, including excellent presentation skills
Ability to -think outside the box- while identifying problems and developing creative solutions
Preferred
Experience with Sage is preferred
