Sr. Trader - Power
Mitsui & Co. Energy Marketing and Services (USA), Inc. is seeking a Senior Power Trader to manage and optimize their Power portfolio in the ERCOT region. The role involves developing trading positions, managing physical power positions, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to enhance Mitsui’s market presence.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute profitable speculative trading positions in the ERCOT power market, predominantly within a 1–3-month period
Manage daily and prompt month physical power positions in the portfolio from REP marketing and generation offtake agreements
Manage prompt and term exposure of MEMS’ preferred supplier business
Timely communication with other traders and scheduling personnel regarding market information
Work with traders in adjacent markets and regions to optimize assets that span large geographic areas
Support scheduling duties within the region
Assist internal departments, such as Confirmations, Risk, IT, and Accounting to ensure deals are managed according to their intent in a timely and accurate manner
Build and maintain relationships with third parties to increase Mitsui’s presence in the assigned region. This will include supporting VP of Power in identifying longer-term Power transaction opportunities
Support Mitsui’s fundamental market research by monitoring market developments that may impact supply/demand in assigned region
Assist in the valuation of offtake agreements
Any other duties as directed by Manager
Adherence to all corporate Risk Management policies and procedures
Qualification
Required
Proficiency or the ability to effectively demonstrate proficiency with appropriate training with third-party software licensed to the Company such as Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Excellent analytical skills with keen attention to detail
Exceptional communication skills. Possess refined interpersonal verbal and written communication skills, including writing and telephone communication skills. Ability to present to senior managers when needed
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
Undergraduate degree or equivalent related work experience
Minimum 7 years of trading experience required
10 years of experience in trading environment required
Fluent verbal and written skills in English
Preferred
Experience with Allegro a plus
Finance or Accounting preferred
