The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Department Administrator for the Department of Epidemiology, which is the largest department in the School of Public Health. This role involves directing daily operations, managing departmental finances, and overseeing strategic planning and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

Directs the daily operations of multiple institution organizational units or a large, multi-faceted academic, research, and teaching department within a school or college, including finance, human resources, payroll, information technology, operations and management of facilities, accounting, grant management, and purchasing

Oversees strategic planning, future direction of programs, and allocation of resources

Controls expenditures and directs special projects

Manage and direct Departmental finances, in collaboration with the Department Chair

Responsible for helping to direct budget planning, fiscal administration, personnel management, and other administrative and managerial responsibilities associated with departmental operations, including research, training, and service activities

Act independently to determine, interpret, and execute Department, School and University policies and procedures

Required

Bachelor's Degree

Combination of education and relevant experience will be considered in lieu of education and/or experience requirement

Viewed as a leader and a resource for the entire Department of Epidemiology
