Responsibilities

Analyze structural steel drawings, specifications, and bid documents to prepare detailed cost estimates
Develop take-offs for fabrication and erection of steel components
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure constructability and cost efficiency
Prepare bid proposals and participate in pre-bid meetings
Track historical cost data and maintain estimating database

Qualification

Structural steel estimatingAISC standards knowledgeEstimating software proficiencyWelding procedures familiarityMath skillsCommunication skillsOrganizational skills

Required

7+ years of experience in structural steel estimating (fabrication and erection)
Strong knowledge of AISC standards and steel construction practices
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Tekla EPM, Bluebeam, FabTrol, or similar)
Familiarity with welding procedures, shop drawings, and field erection logistics
Excellent math, communication, and organizational skills
