Responsibilities

Assist in ensuring timeliness and accuracy of the financial statements

Prevent inaccuracies in financial statements by developing, implementing, and maintaining internal control systems and documentation of policies for financial reporting

Drive, develop, and document business process changes to eliminate waste, improve accuracy, and optimize ERP utilization

Review financial data to ensure fairness, completeness, and compliance with GAAP

Assist with preparation of annual budget (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Statement of Cash Flows); partnership with other functional area managers to develop departmental plans, Capex, and headcount

Assist with month-end close, year-end close, annual external audit, and tax return completion

Assist in the development of sales reporting and analytical tools

Maintain and update the fixed asset system

Assist with Accounts Receivable, including but not limited to, managing customer invoicing, following up on past-due accounts, and ensuring compliance

Assist with entering Accounts Payable invoices

Assist with filing of monthly State Sales and Use tax returns

Conduct monthly journal entries, monthly account reconciliations and analysis

Provide department heads with their respective financial statements including actual versus budget, prior year, or quarter over quarter comparisons with insightful explanation of results

Participate in key business initiatives, prepare "what if" scenarios, break-even, and perform benchmarking and other ad-hoc projects, as necessary

Assists in other projects as they arise
