Chainguard is the secure foundation for software development and deployment, focused on providing guarded open source software. The Accounting Manager will oversee monthly/quarterly close processes, ensure financial statement accuracy, and build scalable accounting systems.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review key monthly close deliverables including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variances analyses, ensuring compliance with US GAAP

Research and document technical accounting concepts, including guidance on new accounting standards and complex transactions across revenue, capitalized software, equity, leases, and other ad hoc transactions

Build and implement scalable accounting systems, processes and workflows, leveraging a tech-first mindset to utilize AI and automation to drive efficiency

Establish, document, and perform internal controls and accounting policies

Support external audits, including coordinating with external auditors and preparation of audit materials

Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders in FP&A, Legal, IT, People Ops, and other business units

Required

CPA required; public accounting experience strongly preferred

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a similar capacity at a fast-growing company

Deep understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting

Analytical and detail-oriented with a track record of streamlining processes and close cycles

Proficiency with ERP and reporting systems - experience implementing or optimizing NetSuite a plus

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively remotely
