Responsibilities

Operational Leadership: Coordinate resources (personnel, equipment, and materials) to meet project requirements; monitor project progress, resolve complex issues, and adjust plans as necessary; ensuring technical integrity and site compliance with project specifications and safety regulations
Strategic Financial Management: Manage the department's P&L, prepare and execute project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities
People and Culture Leadership: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of professionals; drive engagement; foster a positive work environment; and ensure high staff retention
Client Relations & Business Development: Serve as the primary contact for clients and stakeholders, conduct meetings and presentations to communicate updates, and attend business development events to expand services across the assigned territory

Required

High School diploma or equivalent
Must be at least 18 years old for entry onto job sites
Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record
Experience of 6+ years in engineering, including conducting laboratory testing, construction observation, field quality assurance testing, site grading, and supervising construction materials testing, project management
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
Strong technical knowledge of testing procedures and specifications
Experience with budgets, forecasts, and financial management
Knowledge of construction materials methods, ASTM standards and soil classifications
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to evaluate 'Request for Proposals,' attend site meetings or converse with potential clients to develop a scope of services and associated cost estimate
Strong leadership skills; strong and proven work ethic
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to analyze and correct operational issues
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, construction teams, and other employees of the organization
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment
Ability to work weekends, holidays, overtime, overnight and travel as needed
