Network Specialist / System Administrator

The Network Specialist/System Administrator will support the Process Control and Cyber Security Teams in the development, delivery, maintenance, and optimization of process control software, while also troubleshooting network and system issues.

Responsibilities

Performs configuration management and release engineering tasks to ensure new software product operating parameters are documented, comply with standard hardware configurations, and are logistically sustainable
Designs and plans standard network systems
Conducts testing of network systems
Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architectures
Performs operational analysis and effectiveness analysis of existing control strategies
Maintains software configuration management tools to support configuration identification, control, reporting, and delivery of both internally developed software and externally purchased commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) software products
Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc
May build, design and implement training models
Analyze and Troubleshoot DeltaV and network issues
Works primarily with internal contacts and has some contact with customer on routine matters
Must have technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, switchers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc
Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives
Works frequently across organization and with customers on difficult technical issues associated with specific projects

Required

Desire to participate in on-going learning (latest technologies)
Ability to transition back and forth between several tasks
Knowledge of Industry safety Practices and PPE
Be a United States Citizen with a valid driver's license
B.S. Degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar technical degree
3-5 years of relevant experience
