Field Service Technician
PennEngineering is a company focused on innovation and collaboration to improve the world. They are seeking a motivated Field Service Technician to provide technical support for Haeger and PEMserter machines, utilizing troubleshooting skills to assist customers in various settings.
Responsibilities
Responsible for providing technical support for all models of Haeger and PEMserter machines, tooling, and components
Uses hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic troubleshooting skills to support customers by phone, electronically, and in the field as required
Perform Haeger/PEMserter service technician duties with minimal supervision
Follows prints, schematics, instructions, and internal assembly documents to troubleshoot machines/sub-assemblies according to industry’s best practices
Exercises good judgment, accuracy, and efficiency in assembling, troubleshooting, and maintaining all Haeger and PEMserter® products
Tests all components, both individually, as well as the total assembly, for proper and standard functions, as specified
Travel to customer locations to perform commissioning and service calls as needed
Adheres to company Service policies in the execution of duties
Exercise independent judgment and creativity in solving customer technical problems
Maintains a high degree of professionalism in servicing customers with respect, thoroughness, tact, and diplomacy
Generate documentation to internal and external technical and sales staff on service updates, product availability, and technical services available
Provides product training to distributors and representatives when required
Estimate repair costs for machines and tooling and quotes the customer accordingly
Takes initiative in support of customers, distributors, and fellow team members
Qualification
Required
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: 2-5 years' experience in a technical customer service role, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under pressure
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); Salesforce (other CRM platform experience acceptable)
Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
Capable of working independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
Preferred
Travel requirement of up to 75% per month, Monday through Friday
Infrequent weekend travel for trade show or urgent customer need
Observes all safety regulations in the performance of all duties
Detects and reports faulty machine operation, defective material and workmanship in parts and component drawings, bill of material discrepancies, parts shortages, and other unusual conditions to either the service or quality teams
Confers with the department supervision and Engineering, as necessary, resolving questions and other operating or assembly issues
Maintains workplace area in a neat and orderly condition daily
Collaborates with other assemblers and department personnel to transmit and exchange information pertinent to work at hand
