Responsibilities
Oversee financial management of projects, including cost tracking, budgeting, and forecasting
Establish, document, and maintain accounting processes and procedures for project accounting
Work closely with the project management leaders across the entities to support project financial reporting and compliance
Review project budgets, monitor expenses, and help analyze variances
Prepare and distribute regular project financial reports to project managers and other stakeholders
Support the project management team with billing, contract compliance, and documentation
Monitor project costs to ensure expenses are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
Assist with project closeouts, audits, and internal controls related to project accounting
Use project accounting software and tools to input and reconcile data
Participate in process improvement initiatives as requested
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of accounting experience, ideally in project-based or engineering/construction environments
Proven experience in process development and implementation
Familiarity with project accounting software (such as Sage, Deltek, or similar)
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong attention to detail
Highly organized with effective communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines
Partnering with project managers across the QCS ecosystem
Preferred
Experience working directly with project management or engineering teams
Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and train others
Familiarity with contract billing, change orders, and compliance requirements in an engineering context
