Inside Higher Ed is associated with the RedTire program at the KU School of Business, which aims to enhance the economic well-being of Kansas and surrounding states. The role of the KU student analyst involves providing financial analysis and valuation modeling assistance to help transition businesses to new ownership.

Responsibilities

Extrapolate raw financial data (from tax returns and company P&L’s) into RedTire models

Perform business valuation analyses using established models and procedures

Help with industry, location, and market research/risk initiatives

Other ad-hoc financial and modelling analysis duties as required

Assist with day-to-day administration of RedTire and help with leads for candidate business (sellers) and buyers for inclusion in the program

Required

Business undergraduate student with finance or accounting tracks OR MACC or MBA graduate student with finance

Completion or concurrent enrollment in 'Finance' - FIN 310 or 'Honors Finance' - FIN 311

Preferred

Working experience in a Finance-related field from an external employer internship covering some aspects of working with financial statements and/or valuation methodologies
