Conduct research investigations to understand atmospheric trace gases and their role in both tropospheric air quality and stratospheric ozone monitoring
Monitor tropospheric pollution and its impacts on atmospheric chemistry
Facilitate LIDAR expertise in incorporating theoretical and working understanding of laser technology
Develop new LIDAR systems for automated operations in remote locations and for aircraft flights
Qualification
Required
Doctoral Degree
Experience in the design, construction and operation of LIDAR instrumentation for the remote sensing of atmospheric chemical constituents and meteorological parameters
Facilitate LIDAR expertise in incorporating theoretical and working understanding of laser technology, specifically those emitting from the IR to UV
Preferred
Experience in active remote sensing of parameters such as winds, temperature, and water vapor content
Experience in concept development, proposal writing, and overall technical insight for developing new LIDAR systems for automated operations in remote locations and for aircraft flights
