VP of Finance & Administration
Boys & Girls Clubs of Topeka is seeking a Vice President of Finance & Administration who will provide leadership for the organization’s financial management and human resources functions. This role involves supervising internal staff, managing outsourced services, ensuring compliance across financial operations, and leading the annual budget process while partnering with the CEO and Finance Committee to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities
Provides leadership for the organization’s financial management, regulatory compliance, and human resources functions while driving system improvements to enhance efficiency and accountability
Supervises internal staff and manages outsourced financial and HR services
Ensures compliance across financial operations, grant reporting, and employment practices, including payroll, benefits, and labor law requirements
Leads the annual budget process, monitors financial performance, and partners with the CEO and Finance Committee to provide insights that support organizational sustainability and strategic decision-making
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field required
Minimum 5–7 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or business management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls
Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and audit preparation
Familiarity with fund accounting, grant reporting, and compliance
Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or similar) and advanced Excel skills
Knowledge of federal and state employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO)
Experience overseeing payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS systems
Demonstrated ability to support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and professional development
Skilled in employee relations, policy development, and promoting a positive, inclusive workplace culture
Preferred
CPA, CMA, SHRM certification, or advanced degree
Nonprofit or mission-driven sector experience strongly preferred
