Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and direction on movable bridge projects
Ensure consistency in project quality
Follow direction from senior staff and direct the work of junior staff
Ensure that work is completed within budgetary constraints and expectations; implement and administer appropriate project monitoring and control mechanisms
Establish and maintain cooperative and productive relationships with all employees, clients, and other stakeholders
Commit to quality and continuous improvement through innovation and creative thinking
Develop and review plans, calculations, technical specifications, contract documents, and engineer’s estimates
Qualification
Required
8+ years of related mechanical design/analysis experience on similar systems and components as listed above
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required
Professional Engineer (PE) License required
Technical experience in the area of movable bridge design and rehabilitation is a must
Peripheral knowledge of adjacent disciplines (electrical and structural)
Proficiency in Excel, SolidWorks, or Autodesk Inventor is a must
Preferred
Master's degree preferred
Experience leading projects and staff on bridge projects preferred
Familiarity with AASHTO or AREMA movable bridge specifications
Technical experience with pressurized piping systems, power piping for hydraulics, or standpipes preferred
Experience working with NYCDOT, NYSDOT, and/or NJT preferred
Design-build experience is a plus
