In this role, you will guide implementation decisions and software delivery for the search platform, ensuring it is performant, reliable, and easy to extend while mentoring developers and collaborating with various teams.

Responsibilities
Guide implementation decisions and software delivery for our search platform
Design and evolve data pipelines and core services in Java and Python
Partner closely with Search Architect, product management, data engineering, and possible ML teams
Deliver resilient, observable services; set engineering standards; and mentor developers
Lead the team through design reviews, implementation, and production support
Ensure our search platform is performant, reliable, and easy to extend
Accountable for proactively leading or supporting software engineering activities that create deliverables that guide the direction, development, and delivery of software solutions that meet business needs
Provide leadership, facilitation, analysis, and design tasks required to deliver critical business solutions
Develop target-state guidance (i.e., reusable standards, design patterns, guidelines, individual parts, and configurations) to evolve the organization's development process
Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and, safety
Qualification
Required
Hands-on experience in software engineering with a focus on search platforms
Proficiency in Java and Python
Experience in designing and evolving data pipelines
Ability to guide implementation decisions and software delivery
Experience in leading design reviews and implementation
Experience in production support for software solutions
Strong leadership and mentoring skills
Ability to set engineering standards
Experience working closely with product management and data engineering teams
Knowledge of creating resilient and observable services
Ability to ensure performance and reliability of software solutions
