Metrology Lab Technician I - Provo, UT
Wencor Group LLC is seeking a Metrology Lab Technician I to assist in the reverse engineering and drawing creation of FAA approved aftermarket aircraft parts. The role involves using precision measurement tools, collaborating with engineering teams, and mentoring interns to ensure the achievement of departmental goals.

Responsibilities
Competently use a variety of metrology inspection tools to assist in the reverse engineering of aircraft parts
Use 3D CAD software to develop/interpret drawings and scans
Perform special projects or assignment to support department
Manage time effectively and consistently meet task deadlines
Create dimensional data reports in Excel
Collaborate closely with engineering and metrology groups to ensure department goals are achieved
Mentor and assist in training of Engineering interns
Operate OGP Starlite, optical comparator, and height gage
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Competently use a variety of metrology inspection tools to assist in the reverse engineering of aircraft parts
Use 3D CAD software to develop/interpret drawings and scans
Manage time effectively and consistently meet task deadlines
Create dimensional data reports in Excel
Collaborate closely with engineering and metrology groups to ensure department goals are achieved
Mentor and assist in training of Engineering interns
Operate OGP Starlite, optical comparator, and height gage
Strong work ethic and reliable
Effective communicator
Strong desire to learn new tools, software and concepts
Capable of consistently providing accurate measurement results
Ability to learn from mistakes
Navigate Siemens Teamcenter PLM software
Professional demeanor and work habits
Computer skills using Windows and MS Office Suite
Excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting ability
Possess knowledge of ANSI 14.5 GDandT standards and concepts
Ability to work with only occasional supervision and training
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Preferred
Associate or bachelor's degree in technical field preferred
