Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of HII, is the largest industrial employer in Virginia and specializes in designing and building U.S. Navy nuclear aircraft carriers and submarines. They are seeking an Electrical Engineer 3 to research, develop, design, and test electrical components and systems for in-service aircraft carriers, providing technical direction and leading design changes.

Responsibilities
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks
Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes
Serve as the subject matter expert on the design, operation, and maintenance of assigned components and systems
Provide technical direction to resolve fleet issues and lead design changes and modifications through all development stages, including requirements definition, design, qualification testing, and integration to address obsolescence
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of relevant exempt experience
Master's Degree and 3 years of relevant professional experience
Ph.D. and 0 years of experience
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
Preferred
Experience With The Following Is Preferred, But Not Required
Interior communications systems, networks and sensor
