Responsibilities
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks
Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes
Completing verifications and validation tests on changes associated with the ship's electrical distribution system
Authoring reports delineating the outcome of the test
Authoring documents to request action from the ship
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience
Master's Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
Preferred
Ability to develop, update and review electrical schematics
Ability to develop, update, review and execute verification and validation procedures
Knowledgeable of electrical distribution equipment and electrical protection equipment
Strong written communication, ability to author technical documents
