2nd Shift CNC Mill Machinist

Northstar Aerospace is a company recently purchased by Avio Aero, a division of GE Aerospace, looking to expand its team. The CNC Mill Machinist will be responsible for setting up and running various CNC mills to manufacture complex rotor craft housings, while ensuring high-quality production and collaborating with engineering on new processes.

Responsibilities

Set-up and run Vertical, Horizontal and 5-Axis mills to machine complex rotor craft housings
Produce High Quality at the Source. Coordinates effort with data from CMM reports
Prove out new CNC programs during New Product Introduction
Team with Engineering to develop class leading manufacturing processes
Implement New Technologies for our machining processes and work-holding solutions
Knowledge of materials and cutting conditions
Participates in daily GEMBA and Kaizen events
Adheres to required safety and housekeeping standards and practices
Helps schedule resources in areas to ensure daily work is achieved
Maintain highly efficient work process using Lean principles to support cost reduction activity
Responsible for operating various CNC machines and equipment

Required

High School diploma or equivalent experience
5 years' experience with CNC aerospace machining
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong work ethic
Attention to detail
Interface with MRP systems
Good understanding of Microsoft Office products
Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and 6-Sigma defect analysis
Ability to work with all levels of workers in a team-oriented environment
