They are seeking a highly motivated CryoEM Laboratory Technician to support cryo-electron microscopy functions, primarily assisting scientists with sample preparation for cryo-EM analysis.

Responsibilities

Manage logistics, receipt, storage, and tracking of protein samples
Prepare protein samples for cryo-EM single particle analysis by vitrification
Support colleagues in collection of cryo-EM datasets
Communicate results with team members
Work with colleagues to develop new methodologies for cryo-EM single particle analysis of membrane proteins
Demonstrate initiative and discipline to execute experiments following established procedures

Required

General biology, microbiology, or biochemical laboratory experience
Demonstrated experience in single-particle cryo-EM analysis (sample preparation, data collection, and/or image processing)
Experience with delicate handling of fragile, small equipment, and with micro-pipetting
Experience with Linux/HPC computing
Technical troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
