Responsibilities
Own the end-to-end PLM strategy and technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives for aggressive scale and vertical integration
Lead the technical configuration and deployment of our chosen PLM platform (e.g., Arena, Oracle Agile, or SAP)
Architect and enforce a comprehensive governance framework for all product development processes, specifically designed to manage the complexities of developing hardware across servers and data centers
Define the architecture for PLM system integrations with key enterprise platforms, including CAD tools and the ERP (e.g., Oracle Fusion, Netsuite, Coupa or SAP ERP) to ensure seamless data flow and process continuity
Drive operational PLM activities to support both New Product Introduction (NPI) and Mass Production (MP) programs
Architect and manage sophisticated multi-tier Bill of Materials (BOM) structuring, release, and maintenance
Oversee all configuration management processes, including Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), and Manufacturing Change Orders (MCOs), ensuring rigorous quality and process standards are upheld
Implement the necessary system architecture and workflows to formally manage alternate part numbers, enabling a robust dual-sourcing strategy for supply chain resilience
Act as the trusted advisor and single point of contact for PLM, translating technical terminology to drive understanding and buy-in from a varied range of stakeholders including Sourcing, Procurement, Manufacturing & Product, Hardware Engineering, and Logistics
Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in current manual processes, leading the effort to automate workflows and drive continuous process improvements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a directly related field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, or Supply Chain Management), or equivalent practical experience
10+ years of progressive, relevant experience in Product Lifecycle Management or configuration management within a hardware, high-tech, or data center environment
Proven experience successfully delivering timely impact across multiple high-priority projects in a rapidly changing environment
Deep expertise in Bill of Material (BOM) buildout, change control, configuration management, and PLM standards
Expert-level knowledge and implementation experience with one or more major PLM tools (e.g., Arena PLM, Oracle Agile, SAP PLM, Siemens Teamcenter, or PTC Windchill)
Preferred
Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business Administration (MBA)
Experience leading PLM implementation or migration efforts at a company transitioning to an Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) or vertically integrated model
Proficiency in database management (SQL) and/or integration technologies required to connect PLM to ERP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Strong understanding of hardware engineering release processes, including mechanical CAD/drawings, PCB layout, and embedded software release within a PLM context
