Responsibilities
Lead field installation, wiring, programming, and startup of building automation systems (HVAC controls, lighting, and integration projects)
Configure and test system components including controllers, sensors, actuators, and networked devices
Commission systems, perform point-to-point checkout, and verify sequences of operation
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure corrective actions are documented and implemented
Mentor and train BAS Field Tech I and II team members, promoting safety, efficiency, and technical growth
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and customers to clarify design intent and resolve field challenges
Review submittals, drawings, and specifications to ensure proper installation and operation of all control systems
Complete detailed documentation, redlines, and daily progress reports
Support warranty calls, service projects, and ongoing system optimization
Adhere to all MJEC safety policies and ensure compliance with local codes and standards
Qualification
Required
Minimum 5+ years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or related technical field
Strong knowledge of DDC (Direct Digital Controls), networking, and HVAC system operation
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and control diagrams
Proficiency with control system programming and commissioning tools
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer service skills
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces, attics, crawlspaces, and at heights
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods
Preferred
Experience with Siemens, Johnson Controls, Trane, Distech, or similar BAS platforms preferred
