Electrical Engineer I (North America Quality Center - NAQC)

Responsibilities

Perform quality investigations on Genesis, Hyundai or Kia(HMG) vehicles based on warranty claim analysis results and its severities
Conduct field or on-site investigations to accurately define duplicating condition for quality problems related to all electrical systems
Instrument various DAQ systems to prototype & customer vehicles to capture vehicle ECU data
Publish technical reports on electrical system evaluations and investigations to provide recommendations for HMG R&D and Quality teams for improvements
Perform part failure analysis on electrical components to identify root causes and generate an investigation report to share the findings with the corresponding vendor(s) and other quality divisions
Provide technical support and participate in various product evaluation programs with N.A. sales affiliates and assembly plants
Conduct ECU Over-The-Air (OTA) update validations to confirm market deployment readiness
Work closely with vendors to investigate root cause of a problem and confirm effectiveness of countermeasure
Collaborate with different departments to resolve complex, system-interconnected issues
Provide engineering support to dealers (remote or onsite) for non-fixable problems by performing root cause analysis and providing methods of resolution
Support other activities within the same group to achieve group’s overall KPI when necessary
Perform supplier audits to ensure the quality of the products delivered to HMG
Study J.D. Power, Consumer Reports, and other Automotive Syndicated studies to identify market trends and benchmark competitors that are Best In Class

Required

Have bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering
Have 1-3 years of experience in the area of QA/QC, Quality Improvement, or Vehicle Quality Investigation & Root Cause Analysis
Be familiar in Vector CANalzyer / CANoe / CANape, Oscilloscope, Spectrum analyzer
Be proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Maintain a keen awareness of accuracy and attention to detail
Be willing to support initiatives that may fall outside the day-to-day activities listed above
General project management experience
Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
