Responsibilities
Develops, analyzes, researches, and designs welding techniques, procedures, and applications
Uses engineering principles to manipulate materials for fabrication and assembly processes
Prepares technical documentation in order to implement waterfront welding processes including specifications, analyses, standards, and restrictions
Creates new or modifies current welding methods, techniques, and procedures in order to substantiate welding theories
Technical leader and welding SME supporting high visibility LMI quality investigations within NNS
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and 14 years of relevant exempt experience; Master's Degree and 12 years of relevant professional experience; Ph.D. and 9 years of experience
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program
Preferred
Current Engineer Welding 4 with extensive experience within department E37
